Time to Plan Another Cruise

  • Sharebar

Now that the after-glow from my latest cruise has started to wear off, I guess it is time to start planning my next adventure. As it stands, I will probably be cruising sometime towards the latter part of the summer. My likely target will once again be the Caribbean and I will be looking to probably take a Carnival cruise this time around. Although I would never want to pigeonhole myself into one particular cruise line, late summer options are usually limited.

During the summer, most cruise lines pull their ships out of the Caribbean to other places in the world. Right now, it looks like my choices are either Carnival or Royal Caribbean. Personally, I wouldn’t mind heading up to the great white north for an Alaskan cruise but I doubt I could convince my friend to take one of those. She enjoys the fun and sun of Caribbean cruises entirely too much to spend a vacation bundled up and snowbound.

Many people avoid cruising during hurricane season. Personally, I tend to enjoy taking a cruise vacation that time of year. I have never had a bad weather experience and have full confidence that the ships Captain will keep us out of harms way. The only anxiety I feel is when I am trying to reach the port of embarkation. Unfortunately airline pilots don’t have to same flexibility that cruise ship captains enjoy, therefore I have no choice but to be at the mercy of Mother Nature. This is another reason why travel insurance is imperative. A few dollars is a small price to pay for the peace of mind of knowing if something goes wrong you are covered. Additionally I will be looking to leave the day before my cruise is set to leave for an added buffer.
