I’ve probably said this before but I’m a newcomer to this whole blogging thing. If anything near there comes a learning curve so one of the things I’m trying to grasp is the concept of metric’s. You see, it’s not always easy to judge whether or not what I am writing is being read by anyone. Lately, I’ve been getting into checking my cruise boats statistics using Google analytics. This tells me how many people read my blog, where those readers are from, and how they find my blog.
One thing that is encouraging is that steadily my readers have been going up on a daily basis. While many of my readers are repeat visitors most of my readers are first timers. You guys arrive at my site a dozen different ways but the biggest source of traffic seems to be from Google search. Most of the search terms used to find this website are pretty searches like saving money on cruises, how to avoid seasickness, how to sneak alcohol on board a cruise ship, and many other search terms. However, one thing I do find intriguing is a particular search term that I had not expected. Many people arrive at my blog through the search term intelligent cruiser. At first I assumed people were searching for my blog when using the search term but upon further investigation I realized they were making a mistake. They were actually searching for a website called intelligentcruiser.com which is completely different from me.
Intelligentcruiser.com is actually a manual some guy (who claims to be a former cruise ship officer) sells that supposedly teaches you how to save money on cruises. Now I have no idea if this manual works (or is worth the money he charges), but enough people and visit my site through the search term that I felt it was necessary for me to mention it. If you are indeed searching for intelligentcruiser.com and not my website here is the link to his manual.
