Tropical Storm Andres Blows Into Mexico

Well it looks like we have our first tropical storm of the Pacific hurricane season. Tropical storm Andres has formed off the coast Mexico and looks like it may be gaining momentum. So far, winds have been clocked at 50 mph but if it continues to strengthen may be hurricane in just a matter of days.

Currently, Andres is located about 200 miles south of Zihuatanejo, Mexico and 300 miles southeast of Manzanillo, Mexico. At this time there is a tropical storm watch in effect for both Zihuatanejo and Manzanillo. Right now it isn’t clear if the storm will make landfall or even if it will make a landfall.

Luckily there are no cruise ship itineraries that will be impacted by this tropical storm. However, this does serve as a wake up call that tropical storm season is now in effect. Woman Goes Overboard on Carnival Holiday

The day after a man was rescued by the coast guard after going overboard the Carnival Inspiration, it looks like another Carnival passenger may have gone overboard. Yesterday morning Carnival cruise lines issued a statement stating they suspect a woman has gone overboard on the Carnival Holiday. The Holiday departed Mobile, Alabama on Monday heading out to do a 5 day cruise.

The associate press reports the Coast Guard is currently searching for a 50 year old woman, who apparently went overboard about 75 miles west of Pensecola, Florida. According to CNN crew members heard a loud splash at about 12:04am. After they heard the splash the crew began standard searching procedures. A cabin by cabin role call was conducted which is when it was discovered the woman was indeed missing. Currently the Coast Guard is still searching for the missing woman.
